**Gin was here, there and everywhere. But it ended as abruptly as it started. What happened? And so what now? **
For this talk, gin writer Michael Sperling from En Verden af Gin takes you behind the scenes of the explosive years when the number of Danish gins in a short time went from 2 to 480 and the small craft distilleries made a name for themselves on the international gin scene.
Based on the history of spirits and his own experiences from countless distillery visits around the country, he conveys and tells about the golden age of Danish gin, about brave enthusiasts, local ingredients and a unique Danish gin style that became the foundation for a new wave of gin in the years 2014-2022.
The lecture will mainly focus on the story of the great popularity of Danish gin, but a few examples of some of the gins that became decisive for Danish gin's breakthrough will be presented.
Water, Tastes and a Gintonic will be served along the way, and it is possible to buy food.
